Fertility is a common health concern for many people in Ireland with 1 in 6 Irish couples experiencing problems when trying to conceive.
There are many different factors that can affect you and your partner’s fertility. Whether you are trying to conceive, have some concerns about your fertility, or would like to talk to us as an individual or as part of a couple, we can help.
We perform an initial fertility assessment that looks at your overall health and lifestyle. This assessment helps us to find any issues which may be influencing your fertility health.
Your fertility assessment includes:
A full bloods profile
Body mass index (BMI)
Vitamin D and vitamin B12 levels
Medical history review
Lifestyle nutritional advice
Semen analysis for men – this is only available through a private lab assessment which can incur a separate fee for the patient
AMH (antimullerian hormone) analysis for women
For women, we perform the blood tests on two separate occasions on specific days of your cycle. Please work out when the first day of your last menstrual cycle occurred so we can schedule your appointments for the correct time.
If you or your partner’s test results indicate a potential problem, further testing may be advised. If required, we will recommend a referral to a consultant who has specialist experience in fertility.
Please call reception for more information or to book your appointment.
