Repeat prescriptions are available to registered patients without consultation once your medication has been agreed to by your Doctor, and you have undergone an up-to-date medication review. Medication reviews are required at varying intervals depending on your health condition and the medications you are on. Repeat prescriptions are usually issued every six months for patients who have undergone their medication review. For some people, a shorter review time is required. If you wish to change your medication or dosage, please make an appointment to discuss this with your Doctor.
How often should I review my medication with my Doctor?
If you are on a repeat prescription, a medication review is usually required every 6-12 months, depending on your health condition and the medication(s) you are on.
Ongoing medical conditions
If you have several ongoing medical conditions, you may need a medical review on a more regular basis so we can ensure you are on the best medication for each of your conditions.
You may also need a more regular medication review if you are taking prescription drugs for sleeping or sedation, or ‘psychoactive’ medications such as antidepressants or anti-psychotic medications. In some cases, the medication will only be prescribed on a month by month basis.
If your regular prescription is complicated, with many medications or several “as required” medications, we will provide a Personalised Repeat Prescription Request Form at your medication review. This form will allow you to quickly tick and request the medication you require from your personalised medication list, for a specific month or months. This way we avoid any over-prescribing or prescribing errors with complex prescriptions.

When will my prescription be ready?
You will be able to collect your prescription 48 hours after it has been ordered. For example, if you ordered your script on a Wednesday it will be ready for you the following Friday. Prescriptions ordered on a Friday will be available the following Tuesday.
